9-24-08 Kiegen is VIP

This is during singing time, so funny to watch.

When they are the VIP they get to bring home this Bear to watch for the weekend. Then when they go back to school they get to tell everyone what they did with "Buddy Bear".

It also happened to be clown day the same day he was VIP. Kiegen didn't dress up, but his teachers did and so did some of his classmates. It was so funny.

So on September 24, Kiegen was the VIP at preschool. We made a poster board with everything he likes and he got to help the teacher hand out treats. He brought the puppies in to show his class and just had a great day. We even went to Dairy Queen for lunch and got milk shakes.

Roxy and her Babies

Today Roxy, our miniature dachshund, had four precious little puppies. There are 3 boys and 1 little girl. Our neighbor and good friend Tyra, who is a great photographer and took all the pictures below, came over with her kids to see the birth of the last 2 puppies. It was a teaching experience for all the kids, and boy did they have some questions as the babies were coming out:) Kiegen is trying to talk us into keeping the very light tan little boy, but we'll have to see.

*Warning there is one birthing picture below, but it isn't bad*

She is such a protective mommy.

This little guy came out and didn't make one sound so Spencer thought he wasn't breathing. Nope he was fine, he just latched on seconds after birth.

The birthing picture, I told you it wasn't bad.

Isn't that the sweetest thing!! Baby and mommy, oh so cute!

Kiegen's First Day of Preschool

Kiegen started preschool Tuesday, September 2, 2008. We started off the morning with a good breakfast. Spencer made eggs, toast, and bacon. Yumm!

He was very excited and took his Spiderman backpack with wheels:)

He has his own special cubby to put his backpack and jacket.

After preschool is over they line up and wait for their moms or dads.

Kiegen's first day was great! He learned about Astronauts and planets and couldn't wait to go back the next day. Having his best bud Zac (the one not looking at the camera) in his class is really fun too. They both love preschool.

Kiegen's First Blog

Kiegen always sees me updating our family blog and decided that he wanted to start blogging too. He has his own digital camera that he takes pictures with all the time and wanted a place to show them off. I'm not sure how long it will last because I barely have enough time to update my own blog, but we're giving it a shot. Check it out at kiegen.blogspot.com

Mowing the Lawn

We finally got grass planted and along with the weeds it was long enough to mow. Kiegen and Spencer got on the riding mower and now it looks great.
Kiegen even got to steer himself and did an awesome job. He loves helping his dad.

Cohen is 3 Months

Cohen turned 3 moths on the 14th of August. He is just getting big so fast. He looks more like Kiegen everyday.

Sticking his tongue out, usually his lips are covered in spit bubbles so this is a cute change.

He is just learning to hold toys and is always sucking on his hands or now toys.

We put the activity bar on his swing and he loves it!

This is Kiegen just chillin at home yesterday. I can't believe how much he has grown up.

More Bear Lake Pictures

I found some more Bear Lake Pictures that I thought I would share. We had such a great time. This is Me and the boys on the boat.

I forced Kiegen to go on the tube with Uncle Tim and me. He is smiling in the picture, but I had to drag him on to the tube kicking and screaming. I knew he'd have fun if he would just try:)

See, he even gave the thumbs up when he was done.

Cohen was not loving his life jacket.

This is Kiegen with Uncle Sam. Sam is trying to help Kiegen skim board. Kiegen loves hanging out with Uncle Sam!

In Loving Memory

For those who don't know, on Saturday, August 9, 2008, our dog Biggins was hit and killed. Kiegen and I were on our way to the Primary activity and as we were driving down the street, Biggins chased us. I didn't know that he was chasing us or that he had run in front of us and I hit him. Spencer was out front talking to a neighbor and saw the whole thing. It was very traumatic for me, but the boys took it very well considering. He was a weird dog, but we did love him and will miss him.

This is a tree we planted in the front yard over the spot we buried him. The burial was very sad and our other dog Roxy was very distraught as she tried to dig Biggins up as we buried him. I think his death has affected her the most as she misses her mate and is acting a little depressed. She is pregnant though and we are considering keeping one of her puppies. Hopfully a new friend will lift her spirits.

More Lagoon Pics

Kiegen and Aunt Ari on this new ride called the Odyssey. Not only is it a fun ride, but it is fun to watch others ride. As the cars go around, up, and down, unsuspecting riders are sprayed by fake sea life. It is HILARIOUS!!!

Spencer and me on "The Screamer"

Matt (Ari's boyfriend), Ari, my mom Jody, and me on the "Cliff Hanger"

We didn't go into the water park, so the fountain at the entrance was as good as it got for Kiegen and it was definitly good enough. He loved it!

Kiegen and Grandma Jody waiting in line.

Lagoon

So, we got to go to Lagoon as a family and it was SO Fun!! It was a little difficult with an infant, but Cohen was so good all day and since we went with my parents and sister, they helped a ton.
See, what a happy baby!
Flying Aces, pretty much my favorite ride and 1 of 5 I went on all day.

Kiegen and Grandpa Bill won lots of prizes playing games and they just kept piling them up around Cohen in the stroller.

We spent a lot of time in Kiddy Land and Kiegen rode this one a couple times.

Bear Lake

So, every year my mom's family has a reunion at Bear Lake. It is a week of camping and hanging out with family and it is always a blast! This year we went for 5 of the 7 days and it was so much fun I can't wait until next year. Here are a couple pics and I will definitly post more when I get the chance.

These are Kiegen's 3 girlfriends (actually 2nd cousins, but he doesn't know the difference), that he played with the entire time we were at the Lake. (going clockwise from Kiegen, Sophia, Anisa, and Anika) When asked about the girls by another cousin, Kiegen replyed, "I'm lucky, I have 3 girlfriends and I haven't dated much. I think I'll have to drive to go on a date." When asked if he kissed the girls he said "No, I asked them to kiss me and they said no."

The things that kid comes up with I don't even know where he learns half of it.

Just a cool picture of the girls on the beach.

I thought this picture of Kiegen was so cute. He is such a beach bum. He could spend all day out there and I had to make him eat or drink because he didn't want to do anything to take away from time on the beach.

Just a nice pic of Spencer and Cohen. Spencer is showing off his farmers tan:)

Update on our Kitty

(this is an old picture)

Well, we picked up our kitty from the vet and she is doing good now that she is home. The vet thinks she was hit by a car because she has a broken jaw. She is still pretty groggy from the anesthesia (she had to have x-rays), but she has started to eat which is good. The vet said he thinks she really needs surgery, but that is definitely not in our budget so we are going to see if she can get better on her own. She is on a strict diet of soft food only and has to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks. We hope our kitty gets better soon, we don't want to have to put her to sleep.

Cohen is 2 Months Old

This is Cohen Wednesday when he turned 8 weeks old. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. He is quite big for his age (his grandma Janice says he is bigger than his 5 month old cousin Bron), but we think he's perfect of coarse.

Kiegen is such a great big brother! The other day I came out and Kiegen had moved Cohen from the swing to his bouncy chair. When I asked Kiegen why he had moved Cohen, he made the common "cuhh" sound then said "because he was bored of swinging mom". I thought it was cute and funny even though we did have a talk about picking up little brother.

Here is Cohen yesterday when he actually hit the 2 month mark. He is starting to smile and talk all the time and I love it! He is so fun and just like his brother, he loves being outside. Whenever he is fussy I just have to take him outside and he calms right down.

Our Poor Kitty

This is our Cat the day before yesterday enjoying Cohen's vibrating chair.

This is our Cat last night when she came home obviously injured by who knows what. The left side of her mouth, which you can't really see was torn away from her jawline and her eye was draining some bloody fluid. Her face is very swollen and I hope she will not have any permanent damage. We took her to the vet this morning so we'll see how it goes.

Kiegen is very upset about our Kitty's injuries and keeps telling me that which ever animal did this is "going to pay". How sweet to defend his cat, but I don't know where he learned that phrase or the concept of revenge.

Cohen's First Smile

Today we were hanging out and Cohen started cooing. As we cooed back at him he started smiling. It took us a couple tries, but we finally got it on camera. Granted he has smiled before, but never in response to us. Isn't he so cute?!!
